The Standards Coverage tool helps district leaders evaluate the assessments in a Forefront course. It shows, for every domain, cluster, and standard in a lens, how many opportunities for assessment exist across the course.
Use it to confirm that key standards are assessed often enough, and to spot gaps, such as standards that are rarely or never assessed.
Please note: Standards Coverage counts opportunities for assessment, meaning how many times teachers could enter data for a standard. It does not count how many times data has actually been entered.

How to Check Standards Coverage
Standards Coverage is located in course management, so you will need the ability to edit courses. Understand roles here.
Step 1: Click "Courses" in the left side bar and select the relevant course.
Step 2: Click "Standards Coverage."
The button is located next to the course's configured lenses, above the list of assessments.
Step 3: Select the lens.
The Standards Coverage window opens to the first lens in the course (for example, CCSS). Use the drop-down menu at the top of the window to switch to any other lens you have configured, such as a priority standards lens.
The Standards Coverage pop-up allows you to select a focus standard in the second drop-down menu. You may also select a node of the report to change the standard of focus.
Step 4: Hover over the visualization to see how often each standard is assessed.
Hover over any domain, cluster, or standard to see the number of times it is assessed and which assessments are aligned to it. A domain's count includes all of the standards beneath it.
Hovering or selecting a node in the visualization allows you to view detail regarding the learning expectation and assessment opportunities, as displayed in the above screenshot.
Reading the Visualization
● Darker green means there are more opportunities for assessment.
● Lighter green means there are fewer opportunities for assessment.
● Red means the standard is never directly assessed in any of the course's assessments.
A course where most of the visualization is green has a robust assessment system. Even so, it's worth paying attention to the standards that are assessed less often, and to any red sections.
Helpful tip: Check each lens you have configured. For example, switch to your priority standards lens to make sure your priority standards are getting as many assessment opportunities as you need.
