Demographics in Forefront Overview

Enabling Demographic Uploads

Before uploading student demographic data into Forefront, ensure that the necessary demographic categories are enabled for your account. If you are unsure whether these categories are activated, please contact [email protected] to confirm that your demographic fields align with the upload file.

Note: For districts using Clever, the default categories for gender, race, and ethnicity are commonly used and can be easily enabled and visualized.

Customizable Demographics for Districts

The demographic information in Forefront is fully customizable to suit your district's needs. Below, you'll find the current default demographic categories and their fields. If your district needs additional demographic categories or specific terms, feel free to contact our team to request customization.

How to Upload Demographics

SFTP Spreadsheet: In your spreadsheet for uploading demographics, the column headers will need to map the demographic type and the parse codes will need to map to the correct field. For example, for gender demographics, the spreadsheet will need a column titled "Gender" that includes mappable parse codes that references another column of student IDs.
