This two-minute video provides a brief beginning-of-year review for teachers returning to Forefront for a new school year. Learn where to start, how to review historical data, and where to find upcoming assessments, dashboards, family resources, and professional learning courses.
Log In and Select Your Class
When you log in to Forefront, you may be prompted to select a class.
If your district’s rosters have not yet been configured for the new school year, you may instead see a message indicating that roster setup is still in progress. Your available classes will appear after your district’s rostering process is complete.
Review Your Classroom Overview
The Classroom Overview provides a high-level view of your current students and their performance in relation to grade-level expectations.
If your district used Forefront during the previous school year, you can drop back to students’ previous grade level to review historical results. This allows you to see how students performed against the expectations from the grade level they recently completed.
You can also use the available filters to focus the results by term, program, or other available criteria. Learn more about how to Leverage Year-Over-Year Data in Forefront.
Preview Upcoming Units on the Parts Page
Open the Parts page to preview upcoming units, modules, or assessment windows.
This page allows you to review the specific skills and expectations included in an assessment before your class reaches that point in the instructional sequence. For example, you can preview the skills assessed on a beginning-of-year assessment before administering it in the fall.
View District Dashboards
If your district has created dashboards, you can access them from the Dashboards section of Forefront.
Dashboards provide a customized view of the information your district or school has identified as most important for teachers and leaders. Learn more about how to access dashboards.
Access Family Letters
Family letters and other family-facing resources are available for supported instructional programs and assessments.
Your district or school may also create and share its own family resources through Forefront. Available letters can be reviewed, downloaded, and shared with families.
Enroll in Professional Learning Courses
You can access available online courses directly through the Professional Learning section of Forefront.
Select a course to enroll and begin learning. At the time this video was recorded, the K-2 USNS Essentials courses were available, with additional professional learning courses planned throughout the year. Learn more about online courses.
If you do not see Professional Learning in the left-hand navigation, contact [email protected] to ask whether the module can be enabled for your district.
