Forefront’s Reporting Suite includes a variety report types designed to help educators answer different questions about student learning. This article provides a quick overview of each report and examples of when it may be useful.

Stacked Bar Report
The Stacked Bar report displays data as bars divided into proficiency groups, showing the number or percentage of students within each group. This is the default report leaders see when accessing reports directly from the pacing page.
Use this report to:
Get a quick picture of overall student performance
Compare performance across assessments, standards, classes, schools, or other entities
Identify groups of students for further analysis
Report Usage Tip: Click a number in the table below the report to see the students represented in that proficiency group.

Question Analysis Report
The Question Analysis report shows how students performed on each question in an assessment. It is the default report teachers see when opening reports directly from an assessment spreadsheet.
Use this report to:
Identify questions or concepts students found challenging
Look for patterns across a class or cohort
Determine which concepts may need whole-group reteaching and which may be better addressed through small-group instruction
Report Usage Tip: Click a question number at the bottom of a column to view information about the question and access Next Steps for Support resources, when available.

Standard Analysis Report
The Standard Analysis report shows student performance by individual standard. You can review standards associated with a specific assessment or unit or select individual standards to explore.
Use this report to:
Identify strengths and areas of challenge by standard
Determine which standards may need reteaching or reinforcement
Compare performance across multiple standards
Report Usage Tip: When viewing a standard as an entity, right-click the standard to add its substandards.

Standard Growth Report
The Standard Growth report shows the opportunities students have to demonstrate learning on a specific standard across assessments, along with their proficiency on the questions aligned to that standard.
Use this report to:
Monitor performance on a standard across multiple assessments
See how frequently a standard is assessed
Identify upcoming assessment opportunities
Explore how the rigor of questions aligned to the standard changes over time
Report Usage Tip: Click an assessment name below the report to view the questions aligned to the selected standard.

Line Chart Report
The Line Chart report shows proficiency across selected entities for one or more cohorts. You can use it to follow a single student, class, school, district, or other group over time.
Use this report to:
Monitor student progress over time
Identify trends in performance
Compare trends across different groups
Highlight and celebrate growth
Report Usage Tip: Add additional cohorts to compare trends between groups. Learn more about cohorts.

Sankey Chart Report
The Sankey Chart shows how the same cohort of students performs across multiple data points. The report requires at least two entities, which can be reordered to explore changes in student performance.
Use this report to:
See how students move between proficiency levels
Identify patterns in student progress
Examine which students improved, remained stable, or changed performance levels between data points
Report Usage Tip: Entities can include assessments, assessment questions, and standards. Try different combinations to explore student performance from different perspectives.

Data Table Report
The Data Table report provides student-by-student performance for a selected entity. It is also the only report in the Reporting Suite that can be downloaded as a CSV file.
Use this report to:
Review individual student results
Sort students by proficiency
View proficiency levels, numerical scores, or percentiles when available
Export student-level data for analysis outside of Forefront
Report Usage Tips:
Click an entity column header to sort students by proficiency.
Use the display options to switch between proficiency, numerical scores, and percentiles when available.
Select Download to export the table as a CSV.
Right-click an entity and select Add questions to include question-level results.

Score Histogram Report
The Score Histogram shows the distribution of numerical scores for a selected group of students.
Use this report to:
See how scores are distributed across a cohort
Identify clusters of student performance
Understand the range of scores on an assessment or standard
Explore where individual scores fall within the broader distribution

Proficiency Histogram Report
The Proficiency Histogram shows how many students fall within each proficiency level for a selected entity.
Use this report to:
Quickly understand the overall proficiency distribution of a cohort
Identify proficiency levels containing the most or fewest students
Add comparison cohorts to provide additional context for performance
Report Usage Tip: When available, add a comparison cohort, such as the Global Cohort, to provide additional context for student performance. Learn more about cohorts.

Completion Report
This report shows the percentage of students within a selected cohort who have completed assessments for an entity.
Use this report type to track which students, classes, and schools have completed assessments, monitor progress toward completion, and identify cohorts who need reminders to finish assessments.
Standard Wheel Report
The Standard Wheel displays student proficiency across multiple standards.
Use this report type to see proficiency across multiple standards at a glance, identify student strengths and gaps across standards, and understand overall mastery on subject specific or grade level expectations.
Correlation Statistics Report
The Correlation Statistics report shows statistical relationships between different entities.
Use this report type to understand how different entities relate to each other and to support assessment alignment validation within a curriculum.
Assessment Progress Report
This report shows performance on an assessment or questions from an assessment over time.
Use this report type to monitor how students improve on questions or assessments they’ve taken multiple times. This report works best for assessments given multiple times in full or when the entity is a single reassessed question from an assessment.
Which Report Should I Use?
The best report depends on the question you are trying to answer.
How are students performing overall? Start with the Stacked Bar or Proficiency Histogram.
Which questions were challenging? Use Question Analysis.
Which standards need additional attention? Use Standard Analysis.
How are students developing on one standard over time? Use Standard Growth.
Are students or groups making progress over time? Use the Line Chart.
How did individual students move between two or more data points? Use the Sankey Chart.
Which individual students are represented in the data? Use the Data Table.
How are numerical scores distributed? Use the Score Histogram.
You can also switch between report types while exploring the same data. Often, the most useful analysis comes from starting with a broad view and then changing report types to investigate a question more deeply.
